These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of doorline.io and the Doorline application (together, the "Service"), operated by Doorline ("Doorline," "we," "us"). By creating an account, placing a reservation, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and "you" means that company.
1. The Service
Doorline is a daily operating dashboard for multifamily real-estate operators. You upload or connect your own operating data — rent rolls, financial reports, and optionally read-only bank data via Plaid — and Doorline organizes and presents it. Doorline is a reporting and workflow tool for your business: it does not move money, write back to your property-management system, or provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. You are responsible for verifying any figure before relying on it in a business, lending, or investment decision.
2. Beta Status — No SLA
The Service is currently in a private beta. During the beta (and until we state otherwise in writing), the Service is provided without any service-level agreement: we do not guarantee uptime, availability, response times, or that any feature will remain available or unchanged. Features may be added, modified, or removed, and data formats may change. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes to active users, but the beta Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
3. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service for business purposes. You are responsible for your account credentials, for all activity under your account, and for ensuring that the people you invite to your organization are authorized to see the data their role exposes. Notify us promptly at
security@doorline.io if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Reservations, Payments, and Refunds
Deposits and prepayments made to reserve access to the Service are governed by our
Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- upload data you do not have the right to use, or use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right (including privacy rights of tenants and other individuals whose information appears in your documents);
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other customers' data, or the systems and networks supporting the Service;
- probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the Service, or use automated means to extract data from it other than through features we provide;
- reverse engineer, copy, resell, or offer the Service to third parties as your own, except as expressly permitted in a separate written agreement (e.g., a white-label plan);
- use the Service to develop a competing product, or misuse AI features to attempt to extract another customer's data or our system prompts.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with notice where practical.
6. Your Data
You own the data you upload to or connect with the Service ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Data solely to provide and support the Service, as described in our
Privacy Policy. We do not sell Customer Data and do not use it for advertising. You can request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Data Processing — Financial and Plaid Data
If you link a bank account, you authorize Plaid Inc. to access your financial account information and share it with Doorline on a read-only basis; we never receive your bank credentials and we do not initiate payments or move money. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's own terms and privacy policy.
Documents you upload are processed by our AI subprocessor (Anthropic) to extract figures into your dashboard; that content is used only to provide the Service and is not used to train AI models. A current list of subprocessors, and how we protect data in transit and at rest, is maintained in our Privacy Policy. We process Customer Data (including financial account data) only on your instructions as expressed through your use of the Service, and we apply the security measures described in the Privacy Policy and our Information Security Policy.
8. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Figures shown in Doorline are derived from the data you provide and from third-party sources (e.g., your bank via Plaid) and may contain extraction or synchronization errors; your systems of record (your bank, your property-management system, your general ledger) remain authoritative.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, even if advised of the possibility; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim (or $100 if you have paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Doorline against third-party claims arising from Customer Data you upload, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights — provided we notify you promptly and reasonably cooperate.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or if required by law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; data deletion is handled per the Privacy Policy and our Data Retention and Disposal Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 6–10 and 12) survive termination.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify active customers. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
